Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at our 169-unit residential property in Peekskill, NY. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our property, including common area and apartment repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Management
- Efficiently complete all daily work orders, ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Communicate effectively with the management office regarding any delays or concerns
- Troubleshoot repair and maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, appliances, and carpentry
- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional service to tenants, responding promptly to their needs and concerns
- Ensure all turn-over repairs and services are completed on schedule
- Record Keeping and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance, building mechanicals, service requests, and apartment turn-over status
- Stay current on all applicable building codes and safety standards
- Additional Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies
- Maintain trash and assist in snow clearing during winter events
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- High school education or equivalent required; experience in multifamily maintenance and public contact preferred
- Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and boilers
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance
