Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Housing Assistance Payment Manager. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of HUD project-based Section 8 rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage a team of eight staff working on the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) in the HUD Contract Administration (HCA) section.
  • Build and maintain relationships with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Work closely with ARH staff and other Divisions to provide information on Division hiring processes, on-boarding needs, procurement support and tracking, legal doc template tracking, and administrative rules coordination.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, HR, and other Divisions outside of ARH as necessary.
Requirements
  • Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR two years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of HUD project-based Section 8 rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze and act on difficult and varied information, including Federal program regulations and laws, project financial information and industry standards, trends, and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Property management knowledge and experience.
  • Expert level of attention to detail.
