Linux Kernel Driver Architect

We are looking for a highly skilled Linux Kernel Driver Architect to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a member of the Hardware Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building system-level software at scale, developing automation software and tools for testing and deployment, and working with internal teams to ensure drive chosen for new storage hardware delivers performance, reliability and operational health needed by the EC2, EBS, and S3 platforms.
Your expertise will help us deliver innovative web services and support our customers' growing needs. You will work closely with customers to identify potential problems and develop monitoring tools and metrics to ensure hardware runs properly in test and production environments. Your contributions will help shape the future of cloud computing technology and enable seamless access to innovative web services.
About the Role
As a Linux Kernel Driver Architect, you will design and build system-level software at scale, develop automation software and tools for testing and deployment, and work closely with customers to identify early any potential problems with on-boarding new storage servers into their ecosystem. You will also build monitoring tools and metrics to ensure hardware is running properly in both test and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build system-level software at scale
- Develop automation software and tools for testing and deployment
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure drive chosen for new storage hardware delivers performance, reliability and operational health needed by the EC2, EBS, and S3 platforms
- Work closely with customers to identify early any potential problems with on-boarding new storage servers into their ecosystem
- Build monitoring tools and metrics to ensure hardware is running properly in both test and production environments
Requirements:
- 6+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
- Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production environments
