Role Responsibilities
The Senior Corporate Accountant will engage in comprehensive accounting functions, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as the balance sheet and income statement. This role will involve recording, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions while ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes to guarantee timely and precise recording of all transactions.
- Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Reconciling all company bank accounts with the general ledger and maintaining an accurate record of outstanding checks within the ERP system.
- Preparing and recording entries for liabilities, revenues, and expenses by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Executing monthly variance analysis before closing to identify potential issues prior to finalizing the general ledger.
- Completing monthly intercompany settlements.
- Monitoring purchase orders for coding discrepancies and collaborating with users to rectify errors.
- Preparing monthly financial packages for distribution.
- Managing commission agreements and calculating commission reports for monthly disbursement.
- Assisting in the annual financial audit.
- Engaging in accounting projects and other assigned tasks as necessary.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, ERP System Software, and other web-based tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Self-motivated with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Possessing a strong work ethic and the ability to foster professional relationships across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Distilled Spirits industry.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this role, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and operate a computer; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
