About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Hardware Architect to join our team at Ambiq Micro, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative semiconductor solutions.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development of internal and customer-facing evaluation hardware, collaborating with software development, design engineering, and field engineering teams to deliver low-friction solutions for evaluating SoC performance and power.

This role involves working on complex system-level issues, debugging device-level issues on SoCs, supporting field engineers with customer issues, and creating application notes and hardware design guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop PCB hardware architecture, schematics, and layout using Altium Designer or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and debug complex system-level issues and develop solutions.
  • Bridge communication between field and engineering teams for field issues and manage issue status tracking.
  • Develop manufacturing test procedures and hardware for board builds overseas.
  • Create application notes, knowledgebase articles, and hardware design guidelines.
  • Assist customers with the use of Ambiq SDK and hardware platforms.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with 3-5 years of experience or Bachelor's degree in ECE with 4-6 years of experience.
  • Experience with hardware architecture design, component placement, layout, manufacturing test, system bring-up, and testing.
  • Familiarity with MCU peripherals, including SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, MIPI, USB, I2S, and PDM.
  • Experience designing PCBs with controlled impedance and high-speed interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills dealing with complex system-level issues related to HW/SW debug.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
