About the Role:

Fives, a leading global company in the design and manufacturing of process equipment, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Toledo, OH area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for complex projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Perform mechanical engineering on glass and manufacturing process systems, including design of air systems, fans, ducting, and dampers, as well as combustion systems and cooling water and piping systems.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to assist with project execution and ensure timely completion.
  • Direct designers and subcontractors to support project efforts and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate with other discipline leads on multi-discipline projects to drive team success and ensure project completion.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their design and construction needs, providing technical expertise and support to facilitate project success.
  • Travel to client facilities to gather field data and provide on-site technical assistance as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in design of air systems, fans, ducting, and dampers, as well as combustion systems and cooling water and piping systems.
  • Experience in machine design or modifications is beneficial, but not required.
  • Self-starter with minimal leadership required, able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
