Job Summary

2C Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine administrative and patient care duties to assist medical staff in examination and treatment of patients
  • Ensure the office runs smoothly by maintaining accurate records, answering phones, and organizing paperwork
  • Act as a liaison between patients, clinical or medical teammates, and maintain positive communications with medical staff members and their office personnel
  • Collect health/medical history from pre-operative patients and verify their candidacy for out-patient surgery
  • Clear any medical concerns with the medical director and maintain competencies to function in MA role within specific areas
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed and/or requested by Manager
  • Comply with customer and facility policy and procedures
  • Notify the RN of any changes in patient's status and responses
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant
  • OR High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program without experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMS) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
  • Electronic medical record experience
  • One-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers
  • Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty
