Job Overview

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team at Food Lion. As a key member of our front-end staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service to customers through the achievement of Food Lion's customer service standards.
  • Be friendly, courteous, and cooperative with other store associates.
  • Assist the Customer Service Manager and Assistant Customer Service Manager in maintaining standards according to the Front End Standard Practice Manual.
  • Maximize sales through excellent customer service.
  • Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt-unload items for ease of bagging such as grouping cold items together.
  • Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
  • Follow procedures in handling cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, partner cards, food stamps, and WIC vouchers.
  • Maintain accurate cash control.
  • Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car.
  • Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions.
  • Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants/flowers, and household cleaners.
  • Use hands to frequently/continuously handle currency (paper and coin) as well as operate a variety of equipment such as cash registers, lottery machines (where applicable), scanners, computers, and calculators.
  • Have sufficient visual ability to check ID cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.

We offer a competitive salary range of $$12.50-$15.00 per hour based on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
