Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pilgrim's Pride Quality Assurance Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for implementing and verifying adherence to Pilgrim's Pride Corporation (PPC) Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage Quality Control Programs: Lead the development and implementation of quality control programs to ensure continuous production and service consistent with established standards.
  • Statistical Analysis: Develop and implement statistical analysis to manage food safety and quality programs, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Quality Procedures: Develop and implement food safety and quality procedures to align with PPC's corporate and facility programs.
  • Quality Budget: Responsible for developing the site's quality budget using zero-based budgeting techniques.
  • Cost Reduction: Analyze spend to continually reduce costs.
  • Audits and Investigations: Lead customer, third-party, and UDA/FSIS/ASM audits when conducted, and coordinate with operations and quality teams to investigate customer complaints and respond in a timely manner.
  • Training and Development: Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to food safety and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience required; previous experience in poultry further processing or slaughter preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science or similar field; or five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Skills: Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience preferred; strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills; good leadership skills; ability to work well with others.

Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
  • Travel Requirements: 10% of time, with overnight stays of 1-4 days.
  • Work Environment: Both office and production environments, with exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
