We are in search of a committed individual with exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to provide outstanding service as a technician to our expanding customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer requests promptly and positively to ensure maximum satisfaction with services rendered; a company vehicle will be provided.
- Utilize independent judgment to oversee the safe maintenance and repair of various complex machinery and tools, including mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems at branch or client locations.
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace, adhere to all safety protocols, and keep the service vehicle in a clean and professional condition, ensuring it is properly maintained.
- Collaborate effectively with management and team members to meet customer needs.
- Assist other technicians as needed in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Communicate job status updates to supervisors and report job completion to receive further assignments.
- Document work performed (work orders) accurately and timely on a daily basis.
- Record labor and additional segments to ensure work orders can be closed and billed as discussed with the customer.
- Be available for after-hours emergency calls as directed by management.
- Identify and communicate inventory needs for parts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or high school diploma with several years of relevant mechanic experience.
- 2+ years of experience in diesel equipment repair, with field experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; previous experience with CAT machinery is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to diagnose equipment independently and interpret schematics effectively.
Personal Attributes:
- A strong desire to deliver exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Capability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Willingness to respond to after-hours emergency calls as directed by management.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Possession of a personal mechanic tool set.
- Must maintain a clean driving record and possess a Class A CDL or be willing to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Obtain a DOT medical certification card and pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.
- Ability to operate equipment safely.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs and lift/carry up to 60 lbs.
- Capability to lift bulky items and perform various physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and repetitive bending.
Working conditions may vary between indoor and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to loud noise levels.
