Our copper mill operates continuously throughout the year, ensuring a consistent output while our production facility runs three shifts from Monday to Friday.
Role Summary
The individual in this role will oversee the daily functioning, setup, and maintenance of the spinner block machinery. This hands-on position demands proficiency in process control systems along with a commitment to producing high-quality products.
The primary objective is to maintain production processes that yield top-quality products in a safe and profitable manner, minimizing downtime.
Work Schedule:
Typically Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, with current expectations of 48-hour work weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean workspace, adhere to safety protocols, and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Set up machinery and oversee production operations.
- Diagnose and resolve machine and material issues.
- Restock consumables and raw materials; monitor fluid levels.
- Operate a forklift as necessary (training provided).
- Ensure proper layering and fill levels in production baskets.
- Conduct quality control tasks; address any quality concerns.
- React to emergencies and make prompt decisions.
- Communicate any issues related to safety and quality.
- Perform routine checks for malfunctions and unsafe conditions.
- Monitor process parameters and make adjustments as required; seek assistance when needed.
- Take measurements and samples; keep accurate records.
- Assist colleagues and provide support as necessary.
- Adjust tooling to achieve the desired product specifications.
- Identify potential improvements in safety, processes, or equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards safely.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to foster positive working relationships.
- High emphasis on quality assurance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while also being self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Sound judgment in recognizing responsibilities and making quick, effective decisions.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with computer operations.
- Understanding of LEAN principles; capable of using power tools for machine adjustments.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as rulers, tape measures, and calipers.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
Minimum Requirements
To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Preferred degree in a technical field or equivalent training/experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Willingness to work various shifts as needed.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must not be sensitive to strong magnetic and electric fields.
Training Requirements
- Forklift Certification preferred; training available.
- Emergency/Contingency Training within six months of hire; annual refreshers thereafter.
- OSHA 10 Training within three months of hire; every five years thereafter.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to high places, toxic chemicals, and electrical hazards. The noise level in the environment can range from moderate to loud.
This role involves lifting materials and products up to 80 lbs. Safety equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and gloves, is required. Loose clothing and jewelry are not permitted. Full awareness of surroundings is necessary.
