About Closing Team Leader Role

Closing Team Leaders play a vital role in ensuring a seamless guest experience at Target stores. As a Closing Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Closing Team Members to ensure that the store is prepared for the next day, and that all guests are satisfied with their shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of each leader's vision for their business, and prioritize through the eyes of the guest.

• Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.

• Problem solve and prioritize across multiple business areas to execute store strategies as initiated by the Store Director or Executive Team Leader to deliver business results and store sales goals while prioritizing the guest experience.

• Assist leaders through communication and collaboration to influence current sales performance and workload deliverables, leverage daily check-ins, check-outs and meetings as connection points.

Requirements

• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

• Lead and hold others accountable.

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

• Work independently and as part of a team.

• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

• Welcoming and helpful attitude.

• Effective communication skills.

• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
