Position Overview:

The Automotive Service Technician role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with hourly compensation based on business needs. This position is crucial for performing essential vehicle diagnostics and executing routine repair and maintenance services in line with our standards and manufacturer guidelines.

Our technicians are expected to provide exceptional service, effectively communicating vehicle issues and solutions while consistently meeting guest expectations for quality and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
  • Perform Monro's Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services and repairs needed.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, and maintaining stock levels.
  • Ensure the store environment is clean and meets Monro's standards for guest readiness.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during service, including Monro's Wheel Torque and Oil safety procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles in accordance with company policies, following designated routes and traffic laws.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, governmental standards, and safety regulations.
  • Complete required training courses to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Safely operate and maintain all shop equipment according to guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with automotive training in basic maintenance and repair. ASE certification and a State Inspection license are preferred where applicable.

A valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required, as well as the ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives. Technicians are expected to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.

Work Environment:

This position operates in an automotive shop setting, with exposure to moderate noise levels, various weather conditions, and potential chemicals and odors.

Technicians must be able to:

  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Lift and carry merchandise and supplies up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and twisting.
