Maintenance Planner Job Description

U.S. Silica is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning and executing all plant maintenance work and purchasing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize and schedule work
  • Stage parts and prepare for maintenance jobs
  • Develop and maintain a work plan and schedule
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date data in JDE software
  • Assist with inventory and purchasing functions
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment maintenance issues
  • Review daily stores issues report for accuracy
  • Conduct daily review of performed maintenance tasks
  • Conduct monthly inventory cycle counts
  • Receive and process incoming shipments and invoices
  • Organize and categorize storeroom parts and equipment
  • Perform purchasing to support efficient plant operations
  • Utilize JD Edwards to enter purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Collaborate with vendors to find optimal pricing and delivery options
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required
  • Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and manuals
  • Computer aptitude for planning and scheduling, ERP system
  • MS Excel experience and basic skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Minimal travel possible for training
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience working with skilled trades
  • Previous experience working with JDE software
  • Experience with EAM systems or CMMS
