Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough nutrition assessments, considering various factors such as dietary history, physical measurements, and biochemical data.
  • Identify and document nutrition-related diagnoses using standardized terminology.
  • Collaborate with patients and the healthcare team to create and implement personalized nutrition care plans.
  • Ensure effective communication and execution of nutrition strategies among team members.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify interventions as necessary.
  • Adhere to established Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and their families prior to discharge.
  • Share current, evidence-based nutrition knowledge with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Human Nutrition, or a related field is required.
  • At least one year of clinical experience with diverse patient populations is preferred.
  • Must be board eligible for Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification, to be obtained within three months of employment.
  • Must acquire Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) certification in the State of Nebraska within three months of employment.
