We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers and Companions to join our team at Senior Living Communities. As a Caregiver and Companion, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and companionship to our seniors, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and feeding.
- Provide mobility assistance, including using transfer aids, and transferring and positioning clients.
- Prepare meals and cook light housekeeping and laundry tasks, including washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen after meals, and performing other housekeeping activities.
- Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and transportation, as well as working with clients who have dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Provide companionship and engage in daily activities with clients, promoting social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Represent the company positively and create a respectful and courteous environment for clients and colleagues.
- Accurately document services provided and submit reports in a timely manner.
- High school graduation or equivalent required.
- Two years' experience in a similar position desired but not required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.
- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
- Ability to pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety in the home, proper handling of emergencies, transportation, pet walking, and care.
50-90% of work is performed in a client's home, with exposure to malodorous, infectious, body fluids, and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleaning/disinfectant agents.
