Amergis is seeking a highly motivated Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team, providing exceptional support to individuals with autism and special needs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to create personalized behavioral plans that promote growth, development, and independence.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Behavioral Support Specialist with a passion for delivering high-quality care. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing behavior management techniques and strategies to prevent and address challenging behaviors
  • Providing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure client safety
  • Developing and implementing individualized behavior plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Assisting with daily living skills, including toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene
  • Maintaining accurate records of client progress and reporting changes to relevant parties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-6 months of experience working with individuals with autism or special needs
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; two years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move quickly in response to emergency situations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (may be required depending on location)
  • Current CPR certification and TB test
