Job Overview

We serve over 15,000 TK-12 students, in addition to students in Preschool through Adult School, across 56 square miles in the Cities of Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Cupertino. Our district prides itself on having teachers, classified employees, and administrators who are dedicated, experienced professionals who care about each student's well-being and academic preparation.

About the Role

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will work under the direct supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA (Behavior Specialist) to assist school staff with the implementation of approved behavior management plans for general education or special education students. Your responsibilities will include providing direct student services, staff training, data collection, and monitoring. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a behavior and teaching team to implement and modify behavior management plans.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have one or more years of experience working with K-12 students using behavior techniques in the school or home setting. You must also be willing to become a Registered Behavior Technician through the availability of BACB required supervision from a District-employed BCBA or BCaBA. Additionally, you should have knowledge of basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and experience working with children with behavioral and special education needs. Good English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills, are essential. A valid California Driver's License and a reliable means of transportation are also required.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
