Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Operations Management: Oversee the maintenance department and staff, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Maintenance Task Supervision: Supervise field operations and perform maintenance tasks daily, as needed.
  • Training and Development: Train new hires in the maintenance department, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Performance Evaluations: Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations of maintenance staff.
  • Administrative Support: Handle administrative employee concerns in accordance with company policy.
  • Facilities Assessment: Evaluate building systems and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assess building systems preventative maintenance schedules to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Quality Control: Inspect job quality of all employee-assigned tasks.
  • Maintenance Procedures: Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Departmental Budgeting: Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
Requirements
  • Experience: Possess at least 6 years of recent (within the past 10 years) responsible experience in the supervision of complex commercial and institutional facilities involving facility operations and maintenance.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrate skills and knowledge in planning for and establishing the supervision and structural organization needed to operate and repair complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Communication: Possess proficiency in oral and written communications in English.
  • Computer Skills: Have basic computer skills to include the ability to input data into the system and generate various reports and correspondence as required.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed in accordance with code requirements.
  • Leadership and Communication: Possess excellent supervisory and communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 65 pounds at a time.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
