Classification: Non-Exempt
Objective:
The Teller is responsible for providing exceptional service to members, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and accurately. This role involves processing various financial transactions and identifying opportunities to enhance member relationships through cross-selling products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome members warmly and provide prompt assistance.
- Verify identification for all transactions as required.
- Complete Currency Transaction Reports for transactions exceeding $10,000.
- Cash checks in accordance with the credit union's policies and inform members of any holds on deposited checks.
- Process shared branching transactions accurately for members of participating credit unions.
- Receive and process share deposits, loan payments, and cash withdrawals in person.
- Ensure comprehensive and efficient member transactions.
- Issue money orders, process VISA cash advances, and handle coin counter receipts.
- Enhance member relationships by identifying and promoting relevant products and services.
- Maintain a log of referrals to management for potential sales opportunities.
- Utilize technology effectively in eServices such as eDeposit and Mobile Banking.
- Communicate discreetly with management regarding cash needs.
- Participate in annual BSA/AML training to stay compliant with regulations.
- Complete Suspicious Activity Reports as necessary, adhering to established policies.
- Understand and comply with all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies.
- Engage in community involvement initiatives as directed by the credit union.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Sell money orders and cashier's checks.
- Process cash advances following credit union procedures.
- Manage cash drawer and ensure accurate balancing of cash totals.
- Handle cash transactions from Cash Recycler Machines and secure cash at all times.
- Maintain a current Learning Action Plan as part of the Performance Management System.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with strong language, math, and reasoning skills. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is preferred, complemented by ongoing education.
Work Environment:
This position involves limited physical effort, requiring the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as the capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Attention to detail and mental concentration are essential for accuracy in transactions. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary due to varying branch hours.
Access:
Employees will have access to the credit union's network and core data processing systems, with roles assigned by the Chief Operations Officer.
