Position Overview:

As a **Surgical Services Technician** at CHRISTUS Health, you will be integral to the surgical team, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that patients receive exceptional care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your role will encompass maintaining a sterile environment, preparing patients for surgery, and assisting the surgical team throughout various operations.

Core Responsibilities:

- Execute all patient care tasks in the operating room under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assist in various surgical specialties including Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, and Neurology.
- Uphold sterile fields, pass surgical instruments, and support the physician during surgical interventions.
- Ensure that physician preference cards are accurately followed and updated for each surgical case.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to deliver the highest standard of patient care.
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and Universal Barrier Precautions at all times.
- Exhibit proficiency in managing surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Oversee and maintain the surgical environment to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Understand and comply with facility protocols regarding instrument decontamination and sterilization.
- Provide tailored patient care that considers age, culture, and individual needs.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Preferred experience of 2 or more years in a surgical setting
  • BLS certification is mandatory
  • Certification from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or a valid LVN/LPN License is required

- **PRN (Per Diem As Needed)**
