The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research at Penn State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to serve as the Director of the Financial Analysis and Compliance Office (FACO). This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the university's research activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the Financial Analysis and Compliance Office (FACO) and oversee the development of procedures for supporting post-award compliance at Penn State.
  • Work closely with college research administrators, financial officers, and the Office of Budget and Finance to implement best practices across all business areas.
  • Monitor key indicators of the fiscal health of the sponsored portfolio, including overspend reports, cost transfer frequency, and timelines for project closeout.
  • Implement recommendations from audits and other reviews to ensure delivery of accurate and timely information and address audit findings, concerns, and recommendations.
  • Support training and development of the Penn State post-award community and identify opportunities to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of Penn State systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between administrative units and sister OSVPR units and prepare special reports and provide information to internal and external customers.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree and ten years of relevant experience, including at least three years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of SIMBA (SAP/S4HANA) is preferred, as well as research administration and/or accounting experience.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and accurately is essential.
