We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Mission System Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Dragonfly mission team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and operation of our revolutionary rotorcraft-lander.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Mission System Engineer in all areas, including leading the Mission Systems Engineering Team and performing trade studies that impact the mission elements.
- Develop and maintain technical requirements and design changes throughout the lifecycle of the mission.
- Lead mission-level technical meetings and systems engineering team meetings, and capture and report required metrics.
- Organize major project technical reviews and interact with the NASA Standing Review Board and Technical Authority.
- Develop formal communications through systems engineering documents, reports, proposals, and oral presentations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of systems engineering experience with the NASA mission or spacecraft development process.
- Demonstrated technical leadership of large engineering teams delivering flight hardware.
- Excellent communication skills and in-depth knowledge of the APL Quality Management System processes and procedures.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
