Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Staff Systems Engineer to join our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization. As a key member of our Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit, you will lead the Mission Processing Element, a software development team supporting a new Ground program.

This is a challenging opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project, developing and deploying a software system that will play a critical role in the success of our mission. You will be responsible for verifying and validating requirements for the Ground Segment, working closely with program leadership and customers to define and maintain the technical baseline.

As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Leading a large team of engineers to develop, test, and deploy a software system
  • Verifying and validating requirements for the Ground Segment
  • Supporting program leadership and customers to define and maintain the technical baseline
  • Ensuring the program is synchronized and on track to meet its milestones

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer who can operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment. You will be expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • STEM degree: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience; Masters with 12 years of relevant experience; or 9 years or relevant experience with a PhD
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Favorably adjudicated CI polygraph or FSP
  • Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience with effectively managing, communicating, and presenting technical roadmaps and technical subjects to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
  • Familiarity with Cameo
  • Experience with Cloud technologies
  • Experience with requirements verification

Salary Range: $150,000 - $236,300.00
