About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Merrimack, NH, Boston, MA, Eliot, ME, or Portland, ME offices. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of geotechnical engineering projects, including site investigation, soil mechanics, and foundation design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site investigations and collect data from physical work sites, soil/water/sludge/rock samples, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface information, maps, geotechnical data, and other matrices.
  • Analyze data and provide technical assistance on various environmental, design, and construction issues involving rock and soil mechanics.
  • Design and develop geotechnical engineering projects, including soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, soil erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, underground water, and slope stability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work and assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field/site work and permitting.
  • Perform basic professional geotechnical engineering work, including conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Highly familiar with remediation, permitting, improvement, and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior design experience.
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
