Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our Respiratory Therapy department. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering respiratory care services to patients with a range of respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR certification, or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) or State Registered Respiratory Therapist (SRRT) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
