Respiratory Therapist RRT CRTT - Days

TriStar Summit Medical Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RRT CRTT to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Associate Degree.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP), or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.

TriStar Summit Medical Center is a 218-bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties. We offer a full array of acute care services, including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation, and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center.
