Job Description

EdPlus at Arizona State University is seeking a highly motivated Business Operations Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for initiating and completing financial transaction processing for EdPlus, particularly around accounts payable, travel and entertainment expenses, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchases and payments of goods and services, travel reimbursements, and PCard transactions in accordance with established procurement and financial policies.
  • Initiate and enter journal entries for budget modifications and cost allocations.
  • Develop processes to manage transactions (revenues and costs) associated with different projects and initiatives involving multiple parties.
  • Monitor account expenditures, advising on budget guidelines, and inform management on irregularities and proceed with corrective actions and solutions.
  • Serve as primary contact for expenditure initiation and monitoring for outside procurements, including supplier registration, requisition entry, and purchase order modifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and three (3) years of related experience; or seven (7) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Evidence of self-driven work and ability to work autonomously.
  • Evidence of identifying and solving issues with minimal intervention.
  • Evidence of processing transactions and documentation from multiple university and external parties.
  • Experience with Workday Financial System.

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties.

EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy.
