As a Production Group Lead, you will play a critical role in leading the operation of the back end of the manufacturing line, ensuring that all production processes meet or exceed Jabil's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervisors to organize line workload and staffing, prioritizing tasks based on product requirements.
- Monitor and maintain the Continuous Improvement Quality (CIQ) system, identifying and addressing repetitive and recognized problems promptly.
- Optimize changeover times through efficient planning and execution, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, minimizing excess material on the floor and maintaining proper stock levels of operation supplies and equipment.
- Verify that only up-to-date and authorized documentation is available on the line, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with employees, informing them of any deviations or changes, and addressing employee concerns and recommendations in a timely manner.
- Notify Manufacturing Supervisors immediately of any employee issues or concerns, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruptions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of responsibility, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Ensure that all line personnel are thoroughly trained, certified, and performing their assigned functions, promoting a culture of accountability and ownership.
- Motivate and challenge line members to perform to their full potential, providing direct and timely feedback to drive performance improvement.
- Track production and ensure that all deadlines and schedules are met, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Review and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring that employees understand and adhere to them.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, using and ensuring that workers use required protective equipment, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ensure that assigned areas are clean and organized, promoting a culture of cleanliness and respect for the work environment.
- Comply with all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position, as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required, with two to six years' experience in a relevant Jabil production position, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience in printed circuit board manufacturing strongly preferred.
