Position Overview
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will report directly to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to a vibrant organization with a dedicated team. The CEO will guide artistic vision, oversee fundraising efforts, and manage the overall operations of the Association.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct and coordinate the organization's operations, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals set by the Board of Directors.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts and community partnerships.
- Marketing and Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to increase public engagement and visitation through effective use of media.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the organization’s budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and exploring new revenue opportunities.
- Public Relations: Oversee all communication efforts, both internal and external, to promote the organization's mission and initiatives.
- Staff Development: Foster a collaborative environment, empowering staff through effective leadership and professional development opportunities.
- Compliance: Ensure that all operations adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
- Preservation Initiatives: Promote and implement strategies for the preservation of the organization’s historical assets.
- Sustainability Practices: Integrate environmental sustainability into all aspects of the organization’s operations.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance leadership skills and industry knowledge.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, training, and experience that includes:
- A thorough understanding of art and art history, museum management, and fundraising principles.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- A degree from an accredited institution, with preference given to candidates holding advanced degrees in relevant fields.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and aligned with similar organizations in the sector.
