Position Summary

We are seeking an onsite Assistant Project Manager to join our Construction Services team, focusing on managing field operations for military housing construction projects. This role involves overseeing various construction activities, including finish carpentry, rough carpentry, sheetrock installation, and finishing. The Assistant Project Manager will supervise contractors and vendors on projects managed by Sevan Multi-Site Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager in reviewing construction progress against established schedules.
  • Communicate proactively with the project team regarding any project-related issues.
  • Review construction documentation, including drawings and schedules, to assist in project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project work in the field alongside the Project Manager.
  • Assist the project team with documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to established standards and procedures for project reporting.
  • Contribute to weekly status reports for ongoing projects.
  • Gain project management skills through hands-on experience.
  • Participate in project meetings as necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience (3+ years) in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines.
  • Experience with project controls, including submittal management and change management.
  • Knowledge of safety management practices, including incident reporting.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
  • Experience with project closeout processes, including completion reports.
  • Preferred experience in residential construction projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to read and interpret complex documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet.
