As a Sanitation Supervisor, you will lead the sanitation efforts and preparation of all production machinery, ensuring compliance with rigorous company standards and food safety regulations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the cleaning team, performing inspections, collaborating with quality assurance, and maintaining pristine work environments through effective chemical application and organizational skills. This hands-on position requires a solid understanding of AIB guidelines, HACCP principles, GMP compliance, and the capability to work autonomously while efficiently managing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections of the sanitation crew's work and complete sanitation checklists following each cleaning session.
  • Collaborate directly with the sanitation manager and quality control technician to address any cleaning deficiencies identified during inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Understand and utilize cleaning chemicals, focusing on safety, measurements, and application methods.
  • Prepare production lines and all equipment to meet company standards prior to production runs.
  • Establish priorities and work independently without direct supervision.
  • Adhere to AIB (American Institute of Baking) guidelines.
  • Comprehend and implement hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Apply basic mathematical principles related to product usage and dilution rates.
  • Follow safety protocols regarding personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all safety and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize baking, batching, and ingredient preparation equipment, including but not limited to pots and pans.
  • Effectively clean various surfaces from multiple positions and angles, including underneath, in-between, above, or inside.
  • Understand and perform tasks that require equipment safety, lockout/tag-out procedures, and proper covering of moisture-sensitive equipment.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all equipment and surfaces in designated production areas.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
