JOB DESCRIPTION INFORMATIONPosition Title: Production SupervisorPosition Type: FulltimeFLSA Status: SalariedDepartment: ProductionLocation: Columbia, MOBusiness Unit: Swift Prepared FoodsReports to: Production SuperintendentYears of Experience: 3+ years of superivisory experience in a USDA regulated Meat plantNumber of employees Supervised: 10+ hourly employeesJOB SUMMARYThe Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the safe and efficient operations at our Columbia, MO Italian meats facility. Ensure daily production is started at the targeted start times each day, and there is a fluid handoff to Sanitation team members. Implement Lean manufacturing practices and develop and measure KPI's to drive continuous improvement across the operations teams on the shift.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee and lead employee safety training and compliance for all employeesExecute Plant scheduling of finished productDirect Operations shift activities across the plant floorChampion Leanmanufacturing training and shop floor education for the shiftReview and analyze daily production dataAlign resources to achieve daily work planAchieve operational goals regarding safety, quality, yields, labor and cost savingsImplement continuous improvement process to improve yields and profitabilityCollaborate with Plant Manager on new product opportunitiesCoach/develop workforce to maintain employee engagement and identify the next generation of leadersThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
