We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Coordinator I to join our team at Dungarvin. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and personal growth of individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and/or mental health diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Service Coordination: Coordinate a variety of services, including individual finances, activities, program services, positive behavioral support needs, family involvement, education/vocational programs, health care/nutrition, and household management.
- Staff Scheduling: Assist with staff scheduling to ensure consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and support team members.
- Behavioral Support: Carry out the responsibilities and duties of the behavioral support staff during all direct care shifts, providing hands-on and/or verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
- Personal Care: Assist with daily living tasks, such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, and more.
- Light Housekeeping and Meal Preparation: Perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Relationship Building: Build relationships with persons served and teammates, attending community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
- Documentation: Document progress, milestones, and action steps to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Age and Education: 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes. High school diploma or GED Certificate required.
- Experience and Skills: Two years' experience in delivery of significant behavioral health services, with a minimum of one-year of lead staff experience in residential services or a two-year degree in a related field. Ability to assess person's mental health status, communicate effectively, and work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality services.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically fit and able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time, with the ability to lift 50lbs.
- Competitive Compensation: Wage starts at $23.00 per hour.
