We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the accurate administration of radiation therapy.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Radiation Therapist to work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who share your passion for delivering exceptional patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to administer external radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists, using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Administer external radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists
  • Ensure accuracy in patient positioning, treatment beam orientation, and equipment setup
  • Perform simulations and localization procedures to verify treatment plans
  • Prepare and construct immobilization devices, treatment devices, and protection devices
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures and potential side effects
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical dosimetrists, and physicists to prepare treatment plans
  • Determine technical charges and assign CPT codes for procedures performed
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal radiation therapy technology program accredited by JRCERT
  • Licensed by the WV Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners as a Radiation Therapist
  • Board Certified by ARRT in Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Ability to differentiate various shades of gray and see details at close range
  • Standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day, lifting up to 50 pounds, and carrying up to 20 pounds
