Job Overview

The Franciscan Renewal Center is seeking a dedicated Landscape Maintenance Specialist to enhance and maintain our expansive grounds, which feature a variety of gardens and lawns. Under the guidance of the crew leader, you will be entrusted with essential landscaping tasks such as mowing, mulching, edging, fertilizing, raking, pruning, and various other maintenance duties related to plant care and irrigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document daily activities and completed tasks
  • Apply pesticides to manage weed growth as necessary
  • Perform general landscaping duties, including lawn maintenance and groundskeeping

Ensure the upkeep of the landscape across the property by:

  • Trimming trees and shrubs
  • Mowing grass
  • Managing weed control
  • Cleaning up debris
  • Maintaining cleanliness at the main entrance
  • Overseeing the landscape irrigation system and programming timers
  • Organizing and stocking the maintenance shop
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in using hand tools and maintenance equipment such as edgers, blowers, and lawnmowers
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping for residential or commercial properties
  • Excellent physical health and stamina
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation
  • Ability to troubleshoot creatively
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Respectful of the environment
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Experience with landscape equipment, including both riding and walk-behind mowers
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance
  • Familiarity with plant identification and care
  • Availability to work at least one weekend day each week
  • Commitment to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, primarily outdoors
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
