Job Summary

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking a skilled Respite Provider to join our team. As a Respite Provider, you will play a vital role in providing temporary relief and support to individuals and families who are caring for individuals with challenging circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Short-Term Support: Offer temporary relief to caregivers of clients between the ages of birth and 21 who have a mental health diagnosis.
  • Respite Services: Provide general supervision, meal preparation, and hands-on assistance with personal care that are incidental to the supervision of the client.
  • Plan and Implement Activities: Plan and implement social, recreational, and educational activities that promote the client's well-being and development.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Team: Participate as a member of the inter-disciplinary treatment team to implement strategies that support the client's goals and objectives.
  • Build Professional Relationships: Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents/guardians to encourage communication and parental support.
  • Document Progress: Complete progress notes and client documentation within specified timeframes.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Be at least 21 years old.
  • Education: Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills and Qualities: Possess trauma-informed, interpersonal skills, patience/tolerance, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of Mental Health: Have an understanding of mental illness, psychiatric symptoms, and their impact on functioning and behavior.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification: Be CPR/First Aid certified.
