Trauma Performance Improvement Specialist

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Trauma Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of quality care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Trauma Program Director, Pediatric Trauma Program Manager, and Trauma Medical Directors to develop and implement strategies for improving trauma care.
- Plan, develop, organize, and evaluate Cooper's Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program.
- Oversee and support the written Trauma PIPS plan, including the development of quality indicators, complications, and other tracking/trending.
- Coordinate performance improvement aspects of the trauma program with appropriate departments, managers, staff, and physicians.
- Assess the need for and facilitate the development and compliance with trauma protocols, guidelines, pathways, and standard order sets.
- Assist with the development and coordination of projects that will enhance the trauma service.
- Complete case reviews and analyses for contribution factors to the variance in care and/or complications.
- Minimum of 5 years trauma clinical experience with strong background in trauma/critical care required.
- Prior involvement with Quality Improvement and Outcomes management required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required.
- CCRN and/or TCRN preferred.
- Completion of Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course within 6 months of hire.
- Membership and active participation in professional organizations such as American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Society of Trauma Nurses, and/or American Trauma Society required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, MS 365/TEAMS, and Excel required.
- Ability to work independently/ Self-Directed with minimal supervision.
