Position Summary:

As a Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in our operations by loading and unloading trailers. The majority of your work will involve operating a forklift in a collaborative, open cross-dock setting.

Work Schedule: 2:00 AM start, Tuesday through Saturday

Compensation: Starting wage of $20 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Forklift Operation: Efficiently operate sit-down forklifts to move, stack, and load/unload materials while prioritizing safety for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain precise records of materials and products, noting quantities, locations, and any damages or discrepancies.
  • Loading and Unloading: Accurately load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets, ensuring goods are secured to prevent damage during transit.
  • Dock Management: Keep the dock area organized and clean, removing debris and ensuring clear pathways for equipment and personnel.
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for visible damage, report any discrepancies, and collaborate with the team to resolve issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations and engage in safety training sessions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on forklifts, report defects, and assist with battery recharging or propane tank changes.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of forklift operation experience.
  • Forklift certification in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
