Inventory Management Specialist

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities have adequate supplies to provide prosthetic equipment to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining stock levels at clinical areas throughout the hospital for non-recurring clinical prosthetic items.
- Monitor expiration dates, rotate stock to limit outdates, and remove items from use as required by outdates.
- Travel to contracted vendors to count inventory and review PAR levels.
- Keep assigned inventory areas clean in accordance with aseptic principles and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare items for shipment and transport them to the warehouse for mail out.
- Receive supplies and materials for Prosthetics and supported catchment areas.
- Unpack and store supplies from shipping cartons in assigned inventory areas.
- Check veteran eligibility, pull from inventory, and stock issue to veteran's record.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, including express mail.
- Support wall-to-wall and periodic inventories.
- Assemble durable medical equipment such as walkers and manual wheelchairs.
- Maintain stock levels, return reusable supplies to the distribution area, and inform clinic and prosthetic personnel on new or changed items and supplies, current medical supply resources, and shelf life.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- You may be required to serve a probationary period.
- Subject to background/security investigation.
- Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- Participation in the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program is a requirement for all Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel (HCP).

GS-5 LEVEL GRADE REQUIREMENTS
- Specialized Experience: Must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
- Education: Must have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level.
- Combination: Must possess a combination of specialized experience and successfully completed education as described above.
