Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Lacquer Spray Machine Technician. This role will be responsible for maintaining and operating automated equipment, including lacquer spraying machines and related equipment.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for safety in all areas of the assigned duties and will be required to complete a 3,000-hour training program to be fully qualified as a LSM Adjuster/Oven watcher.
Key Responsibilities- Observe, maintain, adjust, clean, remove cans, and make minor repairs to automatic lacquer spraying machines and related equipment as required to maintain standard quality and quantity production.
- Start/stop lacquer room equipment, including pumps, vibrators, exhaust fans, etc.
- Set up and adjust all spray room equipment when necessary.
- Detect and remove defective cans by visually examining production flow.
- Remove all jams from assigned equipment.
- Lubricate assigned equipment as required.
- Start up and shut down ovens.
- Place lacquer waste materials into proper containers.
- Maintain checklists, lubrication lists, or other related records as required.
- Receive and offload tanker trucks.
- Minimum 18 years old
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Minimum six (6) months work experience in a manufacturing company is highly desirable.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Mechanical experience working in a manufacturing setting will be desirable.
- Must be able to comply with all OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules.
- Ability to work independently and with teams. Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
This is a union position and includes a pension. As a new employee, you become eligible for benefits under the Plan the 1st of the month following one full month of employment and must enroll within 30 days of your eligibility date to have coverage for the remainder of the current Plan year.
