Job Summary:

SEEM Collaborative is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Support Professional to join our team. As an Instructional Assistant for Students with Special Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in the delivery of instruction and implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in all environments.
  • Facilitate independence, social awareness, language, and appropriate behavior in students.
  • Support the inclusion of students with special needs into the mainstream school environment.
  • Assist in collecting data and participating in training in relevant areas.
  • Perform other assigned duties, such as supervising students during lunch or recess, providing personal care support, and completing clerical tasks, as assigned by the classroom teacher, program principal, or executive director.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, particularly those with severe disabilities and Applied Behavior Analysis, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift the equivalent of 50 pounds and move quickly from floor to stand and vice versa.
  • Must be able to work with students who exhibit challenging behavior.
  • SEEM Collaborative will provide training in de-escalation and physical intervention techniques.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and CORI screening.
