Primary Function:
Oversee assigned students and support the delivery of the educational program as directed.

Requirements:

Educational Level:
An appropriate 2-year degree or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Licensing Test.

Certification/Licensing:
Valid Paraprofessional certification or eligibility (appropriate 2-year degree or passing score on the Paraprofessional Licensing Test).

Proficiency Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Familiarity with effective teaching techniques and strategies. Demonstrated fair and equitable classroom management skills.

Personal Skills:
Friendly demeanor, collaborative spirit, physical capability to lift students weighing up to 40 lbs without assistance, ability to perform a two-person lift for students over 60 lbs (lumbar support belt required), and stamina to fulfill essential duties.

Salary:

CCSS Classified Salary Schedule FY2- A08, 190 days (Starting pay $14.52/hr - maximum pay $22.71). Steps awarded with verifiable experience.

15. Assists the classroom teacher in planning and executing class activities.

16. Aids in student assessment, grading assignments and tests, and data collection.

17. Supports routine record-keeping.

18. Prepares instructional materials according to the supervising teacher's lesson plans.

19. Locates, procures, operates, and returns necessary equipment.

20. Assists with routine classroom maintenance responsibilities.

21. Aids in ordering and inventorying classroom supplies and materials.

22. Demonstrates loyalty to the school, school system, and administrators.

23. Contributes positively to the building's atmosphere and the morale of colleagues.

24. Assists the teacher with hygiene, nutrition, medical, and other tasks as needed for students with special needs.

25. Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend to assist children, and support children who may resist help. Must be capable of pulling, pushing, and lifting as necessary.
