Mental Health Therapist ITRS Outpatient

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, & Ingham Counties. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide direct and indirect behavioral health services to adults with substance use disorder and, if applicable, another chronic condition, such as mental illness.
Responsibilities:- Assess functional and dysfunctional behavior, conduct therapy, and recommend referrals to various programs and services.
- Consult with service providers and promote education programs.
- Responsible for extensive case documentation and carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in accordance with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.
- Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related field required or must be obtained within 60 days of application.
- Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, LMSW preferred.
- One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a substance use disorder required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons who have a substance use disorder required.
- Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or must become certified within a maximum of 3 years from date of hire or change in regulation.
- Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required.
- Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
$58,843-$66,788 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $77,230. 40 hours per week.
Location:Substance Abuse Services, Lansing, Michigan.
