Swim Instructor Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at The Y of Central Maryland. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, while ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach swim lessons in compliance with YMCA of the USA guidelines and levels
  • Ensure the safety of all swimmers during lessons and enforce pool rules
  • Conduct classes according to the YMCA of the USA Aquatic Program, adapting where necessary for local conditions
  • Assist the Swim Director with administrative tasks and promote participation in the Y Swimming Lessons program
  • Prepare the program/service area with necessary equipment and maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements:
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, all ages, genders, and sexual orientations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
