Job Title: Registrar Scheduler

Job Summary:

The Registrar Scheduler plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient flow at the University Medical Center of El Paso. This individual is responsible for scheduling patients for consultations, procedures, and tests, as well as registering and greeting patients. The Registrar Scheduler must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to manage multiple tasks with ease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patients for consultations, procedures, and tests
  • Register and greet patients
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification
  • Associates degree or higher
  • Training or educational background in medical terminology and ICD coding
