Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduler to join our team at the US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling appointments, coordinating patient care, and performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule follow-up office visits, scans, and laboratory tests for patients.
  • Patient Coordination: Communicate with patients regarding scheduled appointments, test instructions, and any changes to their schedule.
  • Record Keeping: Record all scheduled appointments in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Billing and Coding: Perform select billing functions, including collecting co-pays and co-insurances, and code capturing patient office visits.
  • Lab and Imaging Codes: Confirm lab and imaging diagnostic codes and enter them into the EMR, coordinating with providers as needed.
  • Rescheduling and Cancellations: Reschedule missed or changed appointment times, communicate with patients, and record the updates in the EMR according to standard policy and procedures.
  • Schedule Management: Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant to ensure accurate consult, vacation, and on-call schedules.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to satellite clinic locations as needed.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a High School Diploma or GED, with 3 years of experience in a healthcare organization preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) is also desirable.

Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
