Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive cost assessments by evaluating plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost categories.
  • Conduct detailed risk and opportunity evaluations for each estimate.
  • Review and assess project-specific cost factors (e.g., location, duration, productivity, etc.).
  • Generate project timelines and assist in the development of construction schedules.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure thorough bid coverage.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates are precise and reflect the project scope.
  • Participate in the presentation of estimates to company leadership and clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, material costs, and price changes.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to create and maintain cost databases and spreadsheets.
  • Effectively evaluate bids, budgets, and cost analyses.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a solid grasp of construction methods, accounting, and document organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret all types of construction drawings and documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in blueprint interpretation is essential.
  • Strong budgeting and bid evaluation capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently when necessary.
