At Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Coordinator to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in staffing recruitment events and team socials, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our participants.
  • Develop and implement social media and eNews content, working closely with our marketing and communications teams to promote the program and engage our audience.
  • Manage and maintain our Heroes Facebook and Instagram accounts, ensuring timely and engaging content is posted and responded to.
  • Support the planning and execution of Chicago 13.1 and Marathon weekend activities, including expos, charity village, pasta dinner, Race Day HQ, and Mercy Mile.
  • Oversee a peer-to-peer fundraising team portfolio for Bank of America Chicago 13.1 and Chicago Marathon, including recruitment, onboarding, fundraising assistance, and Hero recognition.
  • Monitor fundraising goals and milestones, ensuring timely updates and recognition of achievements.
  • Collaborate with partners and sponsors to fulfill agreements and ensure successful program execution.
  • Update rosters, process offline donations, and referral credits, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Manage expense spreadsheets, monitor inventory, and coordinate Heroes gear mailings, ensuring efficient and effective program operations.

Requirements:

  • Education and/or experience in communications, marketing, special event management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in PC systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs as necessary.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Culturally competent, with the ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external constituencies.
  • Interest in long-distance running and prior experience as a charity runner is a plus.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a van.
  • Ability to work one weekend morning weekly, beginning at 6am (spring-summer), and be available during peak program periods, including evenings and weekends.
