Position Overview:

The Housing Compliance Certification Expert will play a vital role in supporting site personnel and occasionally stepping in for vacant roles or absent employees while managing compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with property program compliance obligations, ensuring timely annual certification processes and accurate agency reports as directed.
  2. Conduct interviews for applicant and resident certifications, meticulously gathering all necessary eligibility documentation and verifications, and preparing files for submission to third-party auditors.
  3. Ensure prompt processing of certification files to facilitate swift approvals.
  4. Maintain effective and professional communication with onsite staff, Portfolio Managers, and Compliance team members.
  5. Keep the immediate supervisor updated on work progress, including current and potential challenges, along with suggestions for improvements.
  6. Regularly update assigned internal tracking systems to reflect accurate information.
  7. Provide timely responses to inquiries from the Community Director, Portfolio Manager, Compliance Specialist, and Compliance Director.
  8. Assist during the initial qualification process for new construction lease-up properties, re-syndications, and/or acquisition/rehabilitation of existing properties as required.
  9. Be prepared for overnight and air travel as necessary.
  10. Exhibit flexibility in adjusting priorities and assigned properties.

Additional Expectations:
  • Consistently enforce community rules and regulations, adhering to FPI Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Comply with all Fair Housing Laws and FPI policies and procedures.
  • Uphold a professional image by following FPI Management's Dress Code Policy.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all communications with employees, residents, prospective residents, clients, vendors, and guests while representing FPI Management.
  • Fulfill all training requirements for the position, including Grace Hill and Safety Meetings.
  • Perform any additional functions as directed by the supervisor, including support for special projects.
